Radical Indie Announces Exponential Growth, offers $12,000 Cash to Help Indie Artists Reach New Fans

$1,000 cash will be awarded monthly throughout 2017 to Radical users who earn the most ‘Likes

Venice Beach, CA – January 12, 2017 – Three-month-old Indie music streaming service Radical Indie (www.radicalindie.com) has seen exponential growth month-over-month every month since launch. “Even with our phenomenal user uptake, most of our artists are missing out on the best promotional hack ever, Radical’s one-touch live BroadCast feature,” said CEO Thomas McAlevey. “To call attention to how Radical can combine its global reach with this unique BroadCasting functionality to help grow an artist’s fanbase, we figured the most fun way was to launch a modern version of an old-school radio-style promotion.”

The year-long contest aims to encourage Indie music artists and fans to share and discover music using Radical’s unique and free BroadCasting capabilities. BroadCast allows users to tune-in to or BroadCast music live in real time (even while mobile) for perfectly synchronous listening by an unlimited audience – a personal Broadcast radio station. When users hear songs they like, they can add them to their own playlist with a single tap. Listeners can also tell BroadCasters what they think via real-time chat for immediate feedback and conversation. And everyone can inform friends and followers via Facebook and Twitter.

Starting today, users who BroadCast their playlists have an opportunity to win $1,000 in cash at the end of every month. BroadCasts are ranked in popularity by Likes (thumbs up) on their Radical Indie Player. The User whose BroadCast has the most Likes at the end of each month will receive the cash. Radical.FM Announces ‘RadCast for Cash’ Streaming Radio Contest Giving Away $500 a Week

Cash prize will be awarded weekly to Radical.FM users who earn the most RadCast Likes

Venice Beach, CA – October 13, 2015 – Radical.FM (Radical.FM), the Internet radio service delivering America’s largest free and ad-free music library, today announced “RadCast for Cash,” a first-of-its-kind streaming radio contest highlighting Radical.FM’s new RadCasting social listening, sharing, and live discovery experience. The four week contest aims to encourage music lovers to share and discover music in real-time using Radical.FM’s RadCasting capability, which allows users to tune-in or broadcast (RadCast) music live in real time (even while mobile). Starting today through November 10, 2015, RadCasters who broadcast their music stations live and share streams via Facebook and Twitter have an opportunity to win $500 in cash every week. RadCasts are ranked in popularity by likes and the RadCaster who earns the most likes each week will be awarded the cash. For complete details and rules, go to RadCast for Cash Contest Offical Rules.

“RadCast for Cash is a fun way to show how our new RadCasting feature combines the personalization of internet with the live community of old-school radio,” said Radical.FM CEO Thomas McAlevey. “RadCasting’s sharing and discovery capabilities perform better as a Caster’s audience grows. Given our broadcast roots, taking a page from the radio promotion handbooks of yesteryear and targeting streaming music fans with an exciting cash contest was a natural step for Radical.”

RadCasting is ‘Pandora Meets Facebook,’ delivering a perfectly synchronous music sharing and discovery experience. When users hear songs they like, they can add them to their own Stations with a single tap. Listeners can also tell Casters what they think via real-time chat for real-time feedback and conversation, and everyone can inform friends and followers via Facebook and Twitter. RadCasting is available now on iOS, Android, and all major desktop browsers.

“Music was meant to be shared. With RadCasting, friends can listen to the same upbeat music in real-time while jogging on opposite coasts, or an online study group can tune in to the same focus-friendly RadCast while working on a group project,” said McAlevey. “This is the most seamless live-sharing and music discovery experience anywhere. So we’re inviting everyone to join the RadCasting revolution and maybe even pick up some extra money while sharing tunes and having fun.”

The contest will run for four weeks, beginning Tuesday, October 13th at 12:00am, midnight PST and will end Monday, November 9th at 11:59pm PST. Each contest cycle runs for one week and the winner will be contacted via email and announced on Radical FM’s Twitter and Facebook the following Tuesday at 9:00am PST. About Radical.FM

Radical is a privately held American corporation. Tracing its roots back to Tomsradio.com (a Swedish streaming service that helped inspire Spotify), as well as Bandit Radio (Sweden’s biggest rock radio station, and one of the first broadcast radio stations to simulcast over the internet in 1994), Radical continues a two-decade tradition of pushing the boundaries of online music. Radical’s broadcast radio roots helped inspire its uniquely effective interface. Unlike typical algorithm-heavy online radio services, Radical.FM is programmed by hand, by human beings. With a powerful yet intuitive design, no other service allows such a high degree of control over an endless stream of music.  Radical offers RadCasting, unique, personal broadcasting with synchronous music sharing and discovery, where users can broadcast and share their stations with any other user, on mobile or desktop. As always, Radical is free and commercial free, and pays artists for every song streamed.

Forget broadcasts, try out RadCasting with Radical.FM

Radical.FM, an Internet radio service that says it delivers the largest free music library in America without commercials, has developed a new way for listeners to share their favorite artists and songs with the rest of the country and even the world. This new social listening, sharing, and discovery experience is called RadCasting, and is like merging Pandora with Facebook plus more.

Sharing is the New Black
Radical.FM Revolutionizes Streaming with RadCasting, the First ‘Ready-for-Primetime’ Live Music-Sharing App

On the most social music discovery platform ever, users can listen live to other RadCasters, or broadcast music LIVE in real-time to an unlimited nationwide audience

Venice Beach, CA – October 1, 2015 – Radical.FM (Radical.FM), the Internet radio service that delivers the largest free and ad-free music library in America, today launched RadCasting, a new social listening, sharing, and discovery experience. RadCasting allows users to tune-in or broadcast (RadCast) music live in real time even while mobile. RadCasting is ‘Pandora meets Facebook’ and includes live chat for real-time feedback and conversation. When users discover new songs, they can add them to their own Stations with a single tap. Listeners can tell Casters what they think, and Casters can inform friends and followers via Facebook and Twitter. The more popular the RadCast, the higher it ranks. Radical.FM with RadCasting is available now on iOS, Android, and all major desktop browsers.

In nearly two decades of streaming development, only two models of music services have evolved: personalized radio and on-demand playlists. Despite incredible technological advances, no online music service has seriously threatened broadcast radio’s sense of community… until today.

“Listening to Spotify or Pandora is a solitary experience, but music was meant to be shared,” said CEO Thomas McAlevey. “Radical combines the sense of community of old-school FM radio with the personalization made possible by the Internet to deliver a perfectly synchronous music sharing and discovery experience. RadCasting is the most innovative concept in streaming, served on the most powerful music sharing architecture ever developed.”

Limited only by a user’s imagination, RadCasting offers a shared music environment for any mood or occasion. For example:

  • Friends can listen to the same pumped-up music while jogging down the beach together.
  • Students spread across a campus can enjoy a perfectly synced party-mix live on Friday evening.
  • Talented young deejays can build followings to compete with major ‘Top 40’ radio stations.
  • A soldier’s wife can simply share her favorite love songs in real time while chatting with her husband stationed far away.

Users can also enjoy their favorite Stations in private with Radical’s simple and unique genre-mixing interface. However users choose to listen to Radical.FM, they’ll find all their favorite tunes from Taylor Swift to the Beatles in Radical’s massive music library. Radical is available now on iOS, Android, and all major desktop browsers.

Review: Radical.FM launches on the web

Radical.FM launches – There’s good reason that Radical.FM has been characterized as what would happen if Pandora and Spotify had a child. It is lean-back listening (like Pandora), but with a level of tailoring that creeps toward an experience resembling a Spotify playlist.
